This baby Cooper’s hawk is the youngest member of a hawk family that lives in a tall pine tree near my home. At this age they can only fly short distances, and sometimes wind up on the ground. This one has been practicing flying on the roof of our pool ramada to everyone’s great delight. At the end of the day he makes his way back up to the nest about 75 ft above the ground with his parents. Fierce and cute at the same time.
