Poppy Pollen

Poppy pollen is a magnet for the bees
Outfitted with tiny sacks on their legs
To carry pollen back to the hive
They work the center of the blossom
Harvesting the precious particles

Loaded with heavy fragrant flower dust
The flight home is an odyssey for a hero
At the end of her brief and useful life
Wings flutter with all their might
