Fate or Fortune

April 11, 2015 , , , ,

Makers of envy and avarice, green paper creatures

Faces of national heroes serve to guard their values

Internalized between agreements, overexposed features

Images of past betrayal written across the centuries

Imitation freedom, a state of restraint, a wicked teacher

Between imagined fantasy and all too vivid toxic misery

What kind of advantage is gained by digging deeper?

Is there an alternative to repeating the worst of history?

And to add to that,
‘A bridle through the nose, Leading the trusting,
A weapon ruthlessly sly, claws of greed wielding.
A friend it appears , a prize, an award,
Seemingly elevating, into a false heaven.
If only one could see, the running red blood,
The tears in the heroes eyes.
The green color running,gold melting.
It was a 10 second slot, a put on show,
An Ad.turning you away,
Lest you see the truth.
And when the time is gone’
And everything is clear to see,
It is fruitless to lament,
“We are doomed to a repeat of history”
