My 26th great-grandmother was born in Wales and died in France. Her mother was a princess of Wales, who also died in France. Her son married a princess of England. Wales in those days was in dispute since the Romans had withdrawn. The various royals were military rivals. The language and ,most of all, the names make the ancient people of Wales funny to research. These are the most confusing names in my tree. As usual, they have various spellings and titles that are used for the same person, so scrutiny is important.

That is spectacular that you can follow the family back so far. A treasure indeed. A friend of mine is creating his family tree. It appears to be a great deal of work to do the proper research.

Not like in the past…now the Mormons have collected all the data into Ancestry.com, which improves and gets more digital records daily. Sadly, however, when you find your 26th great grandparents, you also find the date when they were posthumously converted to Mormonism…which is slightly disturbing, but it is the price we have paid.

Really? For what purpose I wonder. I suppose I can imagine.
That is disturbing though. I never liked the idea of people changing history or messing with the truth.

Well, according to the Mormons, it is to give them the option of having their own planet for eternity..they say very few accept the option..I say none do….BECAUSE THEY ARE DEAD…just strange they want to do that to dead peeps.

I prefer to be referred to as a gentle reader (thank you by the way….) but that’s plum loco! I have some mormon friends who used to live around the Mesa area. They never talked of stuff like this. Eventually they did move away from the area and became less connected to the church.

The pleasure is all mine, gentle reader. Mesa was once one of the Ag communities totally farmed by the LDS, when we had food growing instead of golf….the church architecture is exactly the same all over..but Mesa has a temple..where you can do such things as dress up like dead peeps and have a wedding for them…that makes Mesa special.
